Triad Social Dance is a collaboration between Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and High Point NC area dance teachers & enthusiasts to host dance classes, lessons, socials, bootcamps, events, fundraisers, parties & more!
Our primary, weekly event is “Latin Dance Tuesdays” at East of Texas in Winston Salem NC, where we share our joy for and knowledge of a range of dances, including salsa, bachata, zouk, merengue, cumbia, cha cha, kizomba, and more!
Our current team includes:
Andrew, a long-time dancer from Australia, England, Cleveland OH and Durham NC, has 15+ years experience in zouk, latin, swing, fusion, ballroom, contra, and modern. Andrew has taught dance across NC, co-hosts the Triad Zouk classes & socials, and offers private lessons. Andrew has performed onstage at the NYC Salsa Congress, ZoukHeat in DC, and has competed in “Jack & Jill” competitions at a number of zouk dance festivals. He is also a certified yoga teacher, outdoor enthusiast, and plant dad.
Heather, a latin dancing enthusiast who moved to Winston Salem from Rochester NY, has competed and performed with various latin dance groups, and teaches a range of latin dance, including followers’ styling classes.
Emily is a dance enthusiast from Virginia, and teaches line dancing. Emily is often there to check you in at East of Texas Latin Tuesdays. While she has only been in the social dancing scene for 2.5 years, she aims to gain more experience teaching dance. Emily is also a swim instructor, rock climber and cat mom.
A huge thank you to Megalina, the original founder of Latin Dance Tuesdays at East of Texas. She has been at the heart of the social dance community in the Triad, teaching amazing lessons, creating so many connections, and inspiring people from all walks of life to dance. She’s currently taking a short break from dancing, but we can’t wait to welcome her back on the dance floor!
